Why will she only nap 1 hour in her cot?

My DD (16 months) has just started (at 14 months) napping in her cot during the day and in the evenings. I'm still feeding her to sleep. She wont nap there for more than one hour during the day though. I feed her back to sleep and no matter how long I wait she wakes up as soon as I leave the room.

I've just tried feeding her back to sleep again and she has done this. I picked her up to bring her downstairs and she has fallen asleep in my arms! She will happiy sleep for 2+ hours on me. I don't feel like one hour is enough and she is rubbing her eyes still.

I should add that her cotbed is pushed up against our bed with the side off, I can't put her in the cot asleep as she just wakes up.

I don't understand why she wakes? And why she doesn't wake after 2 mins when I first put her down and am not there? What's the difference?

I don't want to go backwards and have her sleeping on my lap again :(
