Co-sleepers: is baby on back or side?

Hi - my dd had started rolling and face planting into the mattress at night, and has been waking a lot with teething - she's usually near in side car cot fashion but last night I had her tucked against me and she slept much better but she just won't stay on her back anymore. The HV said always flip her onto her back but in the end I gave up as otherwise I'd have had no sleep. She's 17wks - so does she just lie side on to me or in the nuck of my arm are similar aged babies staying on their back more??

Many thanks x

Mine sleeps on his back except if he's been feeding and we've fallen asleep together, then he's on his side and we sleep face to face - I just push him back if I rouse. To be honest I think he prefers being on his side but I try to move him onto his back the majority of the time, I think the advice for SIDS is most specifically not to sleep on their front?

Thanks. Hard no to worry about these things!

Yep, mine is 19 weeks and sleeps facing me on her side - she hasn't rolled onto her front when sleeping yet, I think as is comfy in that position.
