Sleep

Is this the 9mo sleep regression? If so, please come and commiserate or tell me it passes..

DD - never great - is throwing it all at me. Not settling for naps, and giving me 15 minute jobs, not settling for hours at bedtime and waking in the night and then early. All of a sudden. It's hideous and she's exhausted. I don't know whether to bother trying to fiddle with our 'routine' or just ride it out...

Sympathy, empathy or stories of it passing? I've read it could be 4-6 weeks.

Bump? Anyone? This is hell. Especially as my 2.5 yo is waking up twice a night too..

It passes - I started a thread on this myself a couple of months ago and was a bit frightened by the internet silence.

At his worst DS was waking every hour during the night, just as I was about to return to work. We just rode it out and coped as best we could. I think it lasted about 3 weeks in the end and then out of the blue he was back to normal. Of course, then he started teething Hmm Good news is, he's now slightly better at settling himself. Wine and Thanks and hold tight! One day soon....

Thanks Jesus - I needed that! Really glad to hear it passed for you. Almost one week and counting for me....

That said, I'm afraid mine has been up in the air ever since... for a while we thought we were in the clear, then these last couple of nights he's been waking for a feed every two hours on the dot. I'm stymied, tbh. I think it's just A Difficult Age.

I just came on to ask the same question! We have had about 2 1/2 months of a routine, self settling at night and after night feeds, regular naps and now it's all gone wrong! Won't nap, up at all times of the night but not hungry, suddenly unhappy to be put in his cot whereas he has always been happy before (unless ill). I am not sure what to do-he's tired and whingey, I'm shattered.

Yeesh, tell me about it. My DS (11mo) slept for around 15 minutes this morning. He's trashed his room and is now rearranging the furniture. I'm sitting in his cot typing this, because earlier he managed to slam some combination of keys on the laptop that overrode it and sent it into a forced shutdown.

I know I came on here originally to reassure the OP, but now the light at the end of MY tunnel is receding again.

YY to 15 min naps and so sorry you are back in the realms of the sleep regressed Jesus. And Zzzz its rubbish isn't it. Unhappy, whingey but won't bloody sleep. Am taking mine swimming in the hope it knackers her out. Although more likely me.

I just keep thinking: one day he'll be a teenager and I'll wonder how on earth he EVER managed to get out of bed before 11am.

One day.

Yes, it is hell.
But then they start sleeping a bit better, but then they get a cold/teething/separation anxiety/all of the above and it goes wonky again. And repeat...
