my 8 month dd sleeps for a half hour to an hour at 10 and the same at 2. She also goes from 7.30pm to 7am with a feed at around 10pm. don't know if that is normal.

The average is around 14-14.5 hours with 2.5-3 hours being day naps and the rest being night sleep. That is average though and some babies will need more or less than this.

My ds is 7 months today and gets tired so quickly.
He has 2 hours in the morning and 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the after noon. I also give him a 45 minute power nap around 4ish before his tea bath then bed. He is usually asleep in his cot for 6:30 with a dream feed at 10. He then get up at 6:30 or 7.
Not sure if this is any use as I think they are able to go longer and drop the third nap but my ds is so cranky its difficult to get him down if he doesnt get it.HTH.

During week ends, Our 8 months old sleeps about 2 hours in the morning (from 9.00am) then 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon (from 1.00am). At nursery she sleeps 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. But every night she goes to sleep at 6.30pm, then dreamfeed at 10.00pm and wakes up between 7.00am-7h30am. I would like to stop the dreamfeed but my husband enjoy feeding her then because he doesn't see her before her bedtime... and better keeping the dreamfeed so no waking up during the night!

Blimey, all of your 7 month olds seem to sleep very well through the night! Are any of them teething? I just ask as my 7 month old doesnt sleep anything like this, but is teething just wondering if that is why?
Thx, x

Um, ds sleeps from 8pm to anywhere between 6.30 and 7.30am. Has a morning nap of two hours and two afternoon naps of an hour each. So that's - 14.5 hours. Sometimes he has an hour in the morning and two hours at his first afternoon sleep, but all in all sleeps about the same amount of time per day.

I don't "structure" his naps at all, just put him down to sleep when he is ready for it, but it tends to work out this way anyway.

Hi Nat777. Baby is teething (6 teeth now). I give her Calpol when she looks in pain. And she usually cuddles up in my arm and then wants to go back to sleep. All these babies are so different... and your little one might sleep all night in few months time and ours might notWink!

Thanks sunandmoon, you are right. I know you shouldnt compare, its just that we are having a bit of a hard time of things with her sleeping through (or not!!) the night at the moment. She actually isnt any trouble, just wants feeding and is back in bed within 15mins,

thk u x

Mine used to sleep from about 7.30 at night to about 6.30 in the morning (if I was lucky otherwise earlier) and have two naps during the day totalling maybe 3 hours.

Also DS slept through but was often up at 5.30. DD did not sleep through and would want to bf once or twice in the night despite discouragement.
