Ski & snowboarding

Ok - how can we do an affordable holiday with 2 teenagers in Feb half-term?

I'm desperate to go ski-ing again.

Dds are 16 and 12, so that means four full-cost lift passes. With the Euro being so strong I'm wondering if we can make it affordable.

One option is to drive down to the Alps and go self-catering which will help - but does anyone know about resorts with deals on lift passes?

Also cheaper ski/boot hire? I'm wondering if it might be better to hire at at home and take the stuff with us.

We have all the kit we need and don't need lessons.

thanks!

Have you thought about Italy - renting a house near a ski resort (such as ours - v cheeky I know)!!!!!!!

Our house is about 1 hour from Abetone in Tuscany which the British team apparently use for training . get some easy jet flights and diy.

Hi Tacky - that's worth considering. I'd love to go to Italy again.

Can you post a link to your house details?

Which ski resort(s) is it close to?

Gosh - thought I was being very very cheeky...

We are about 3/4 - 1 hour away from Abetone so you would have to have a car and do day trips. Our house is in Barga in Tuscany, three bedrooms, central heating, modern clean furnishing etc.Town is lovely and old and good for restaurants etc also about 1.5 hours away from Florence which is fab for shopping and culture. Fly into Pisa as cheap as you can and our house is about an hours drive on really good main roads. No windy mountain passes to deal with

never done a link before but here goes!

Looks lovely. Ideally we want to stay in a resort, but will bear it in mind - especially if we can use up Air Miles to get to Pisa.

no problem - we are not exactly on the doorstep for skiing but you might find something similar a bit closer. Good luck!
