Pyrenees friendly?

Am so fed up trying to organise a Christmas that suits family factions would like to escape to Pyrenees. We're in France so it's not far and have heard costs less than Alps.

But I'm worried about isolating my little one (7). Do you know of anywhere/operator that has organised activities we/she could join or other opportunities for making friends? Have you escaped for Christmas before? Is it lonely?

Any advice much appreciated.
