Was it soapbox and family who go here if so would be keen to hear how this years holiday went.
We are planning to go in new yr after visiting my brother in chicago.
Looking for condo type accommodation but prices are eyewatering especially over the holiday season.
Would like to be in the beaver creek resort but wondering whether we will need to sacrifice location for the price.
How easy would it be to say stay in Avon.
Do you hire car and drive from denver?

I've been a couple of times and love it! You do hire car and drive from Denver, or you can get a shared ride on a minivan arranged for you. Depends on whether you think you will be using the car after or not, the first time we went we never left the resort and with the complementary buses you don't ever drive there.

The second time we went to Vail a fair bit so used the car occasionally.

I stayed in Beaver Creek itself so can't help on the Avon side, but I would say that within the resort there is no need to fork out the extra to be very near the slopes, as the buses take you - we once stayed in a ski-in ski-out and ended up taking the bus every day (something to do with the fact that they had people loading up the skis and unloading them on the other side, so it was easier to take the bus to the main lift than walk across the hotel to the smaller lift it gave onto)
