would it be sensible to go skiing 4 months after breaking foot?

I'm off to sweden tomorrow and we've been offered the chance to go skiing. I broke my foot at beginning of Nov and still can't run and haven't regained full mobility in my foot. If your foot is strapped into boots will this matter? Do I need full use of my foot to ski? or am I am mad to think about it given that it will be my first time?

I wouldn't, though have never broken my foot and only had about 6 skiiing lessons.

An expert will probably be along in a min

Just find the local Ikea and indulge in 'spicey meata ball'

I had a very bad sprain and got it right enough to ski on with physio's help 3 months on. Still felt the odd tweak as I skied but it was well supported and pretty much mobile by then. Worse problem was that I hadn't been able to get fit enough to really make most of it so felt frustrated and tired easily .

tbh I think as a beginner you are at greater risk of inadvertently tweaking it as you'd be at the stage when you over correct, stiffen up and fall a lot. You really need to be able to push your weight through the ball/heel of your foot and flex your ankles to stay in control.

I' haven't had physio yet as dr wanted to make sure I didn't do any damage. I've also got very weak ankles - can twist my ankles in high heels/flat shoes/bare feet you name it. perhaps I should just go sledging instead which is not a rproblem as I love sledging.

you need your feet for sledging too.........I'd be really careful. Go for a sleigh ride, go swimming - that sort of thing. Strengthen your foot and go skiing next time...there will always be a next time....don't get another foot tho......Just enjoy the gorgeous scenery.

well I did go skiing and I really enjoyed it. We paid for a private lesson for me, dp and dd. It was only an hour and on a very slight slope so I felt I would give it a chance. The sledging was not a problem till I ran on the snow and then I could feel twinges.
But what I can say is do not go trampolining when youre recovering from a broken foot. ouch!
