Hi

I am taking my 7month old ds with dh skiing for a week. I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on a few things...
Is it best to take a cheap pram for airports?
I know it will be pretty useless in ski resort but dh thinks it would be easier than carrying ds round the airport what do you seasoned travellers think?
Also any further tips on taking milk and food etc would be helpful.... thanks in advance......

i managed to push a regular lying-flat buggy round a (snowy) ski resort with a 12 month old in it. the main paths will be very well trodden down. it was very handy for the airport (take it up to the boarding gate where they take it from you and give it back when you get off), walks, naps etc. this was 7 years ago and i expect my buggy was heavier and generally less mobile than they are now.

For food - french supermarkets (there will be one in resort) sell very palatable baby food. in fact i used to bring some home... i don't know about milk. if you mean formula i think you should probably take from home in case ds isn't impressed by a change of brand.
i hope you have fun! i'm so excited we are off in a couple of weeks too.... ds is now 8 and LOVES skiing.

I would also take a front carrier or baby backpack. You can then go for walks to places a buggy won't manage.

again - i'm out of touch and someone younger and more clued in will tell you better i'm sure, but in my day (!) it was the maclaren xt, as it lays flat - important for naps - but is light and strong.
