A word of warning - if you need to complain do it immediately in resort. Loudly and to managers, reps, resort managers etc..

We were very disappointed with our Esprit holiday to Tignes last year, and we did complain to the hotel manager, but got nowhere. On our return we wrote to Esprit and were dismissed because we hadn't reported our problems to the resort manager (who never appeared).

We received no real apology for our endless list of problems, but they did send us a measly £60 as compensation for a £3000 holiday.

Our answer - we will not give Esprit any more of our hard-earned money.

ummmm that is what resort reps are there for, that is what you pay for. Oh and really you don't need to do it loudly, politely would probably get you further. All you need to take you complaint seriously, is a piece of paper from your rep signed by both of you and detailing the problem. Another tip for future reference, If you don't tell the resort rep/staff the problem, how on earth can they even try to put it right for you whilst you are on holiday?

Point taken Sixer, but that was the reason for my posting in the first place - to spread the word.

Much as I have reservations about Esprit the principle that you have to give the local reps an opportunity to resolve the problem to your satisfaction applies to all tour operators, not just them.

We had a BIG problem with Esprit this year and we tried to contact a manager in the resort to complain - OH rang 5 managers and had to leave 5 voice mail messages. Not one of them tried to ring us back or get in contact in any way. Why the h* should we give up half a days skiing to go trawling around the resort to hunt down a manager to complain about their substandard holiday!!!! Needless to say they won't be getting anymore of our hard earned cash either. The majority of the problems on this holiday were due to the attitude of the chalet hosts and the incompetant management in the resort.
