we went off peak with esprit last year, but this year we are limited to school hols.

we dont want to spend more than 3k for 2 adults and 2 children.

we want dd2, aged 3, to have a go at skiing.

any ideas about who we could go with. (we're talking NY of half term, so price is going to be our biggest problem, i suspect.)

well....

Or have a look at www.kinderhotels.com
You won't find the same hike in price or teh "UK" half term dates.

thanks, lapsedrunner. the only thing that concerns me is that my dds might be the only native english speakers. could you reccommend a specific hotel?

Sorry noonar, only just looked back at this thread. We stayed here www.galtenberg.at in Feb 07 with DS(4.5). The hotel was fantastic but very little snow. Language should not be a problem as you will always find english speakers. DS ski class was taught by a Brit, a Swed and a Dutchman.
I have been recommended Obertauern by friends who have been there several times, almost snow sure and only 1 hour from Salzburg www.obertauern.com, also have a look at user reviews on the Ski Club of GB website. You will also find that there are loads of hotels in Austria that provide great playareas & childcare but they are not a member of "kinderhotels". The Austrian Tourist Board site is great as you can search by alsorts of criteria www.tiscover.at/home/index_at.html?_lan=en
