Ski & snowboarding

Am I brave enough to take DD(8) skiing on my own?!

I used to ski a fair bit, but haven't been for nearly 10 years. DD has skied twice before, she is not bad at all.

I would get her into lessons some of the time, but I'm worried that I won't be able to keep up with her and we will lose each other.

Any suggestions?

I would seriously consider it! Just give extra time for getting ready in the morning, try and get a hotel/chalet close to the ski lesson area. Maybe just so firm rules. With our two boys ( who are better/more crazy hat Dh and I) we have firm rules e.g. Ski to the next lift and wait/ ski to that hut etc. with the consequence of going back to the chalet if not followed.
Some of the Uk ski schools do four hour lessons for children so by the time they have finished, lunch has been eaten and a little rest there is just a couple of hours left for some practising together. We used newgen. Adult lessons are good too.
This year we went to Meribelle and I notices the ski set shops have a gadget you could hire. Linked to your iPhone and it told you where your child is if they get lost.
Maybe also choose a good resort where there are other activities too sledging, ice skating, cinema so if it gets too much you can do something different.

Thanks. Yes I think we would have to find somewhere with some other things going on.

I was thinking of Montgenevre, which is basically because DD went there with dad last year so knows and likes it.

Will look into those gadgets, I could also give her a phone and I think she would be able to use that!

I love skiing but I definitely favour the ski/cafe/ski/cafe method!
