Christmas skiing with toddlers?

Just looking for recommendations on where would be a good place for DH and I to spend Christmas with my parents and 2 year old twins. Thinking somewhere quite chocolate-box-esque with snow, a warm fire, things to do besides skiing, and good runs for when DH and I hit the slopes with snowboards and let the grandparents enjoy our kids. ;)

Hit me with your best shot!

£2000 a person, more than doable for Christmas. £2000 in total? Urm, no way!!! It's premium skiing week!!!!

We love to ski at Christmas and are going for the fourth time later this year. All in for a family of four it is £6000 all in (including everything), and that's going family run hotel, local skiers, and not paying over the odds for a flashy Zermatt type experience.

We love Salzburgerland in Austria, although we have skied elsewhere lots too (inc Zermatt!) But for Christmas, that part of Austria is family friendly and so amazingly uncommercial and meaningful. We love it.

It is indeed a small budget, though I should have clarified £2000 is just for lodging, not food, lift passes, equipment hire, flights, transport etc. Is there really no self catering 2 bed apartment in somewhere like Seefeld or Alpbach for less than £2000 a week? :(
