Ski and snowboarding

Where to ski for a nervous mum scared of sheer drops and shaky lifts?

We had a lovely holiday in Samoens over Easter, kids (age 6 and 7) loved it and DH was skiing over to Flaine every day doing off piste stuff. I found it all pretty scary, first time skiing since I had children and could see danger everywhere. Some of the ski lifts were about to fall to pieces in my opinion and the French don't have any regard for health and safety which DH finds 'refreshing'.

Can anyone recommend a ski resort which is family friendly and where I won't be scared to death?

Andorra was cheap and cheerful and very beginner friendly.

I've heard Andorra is nice. Were the lifts new / modern? Lots of wide, open runs which don't have a cliff edge on one side or both?

I'm not scared for myself so much as the children who have no apparent sense of danger.

Don't remember the lift but didn't take issue with them. Lots of beginner slopes.
