Can anyone recommend group ski lessons in Courcheval? I've used ESF before in other resorts and never been that impressed. Thanks

We used ESF last year in Courchevel for the DGCs, and they were fine, largely because we had taken the children out of school so there were only three in their group.

This winter we were without the kids; on our last morning up the mountain we found a small child, looking about five years old and on his own, crying, calling for his maman. We asked various skiers if he belonged to them, no luck, so we escorted him down and he recognised his ski group who were just about to go up again in the gondola and dashed off to join them. His ESF instructor simply had not noticed he was missing. There were about twenty small children in the group.
With hindsight we should have gone to the ESF office and reported the incident.

New Generation have a very good reputation, the only drawback is that they are quite a lot more expensive than ESF, on the other hand they probably won't lose your child.

We used to use Magic in Motion when I worked there (many many years ago...)

Used Magic in la Tania last year for our 5 year old and using them again this year. I have also used them for a couple of private lessons. They teach in Courcheval as well. Very small groups for kids, much more expensive than ESF but IMO you get what you pay for.

New Gen are great for kids - my H (expert) had a couple of hours with someone from Magic and said he was great also.

New Generation.

We booked lessons for dd then 6, it was over Christmas and they had no others her level, they were all beginners, so rather than her being bored, they gave her a couple of days privates, rather than a week of ski school. It was brilliant, she came on loads, can't praise them enough.

Just back yesterday having spent 200 euros on morning lessons with ESF and never again. They started at 9, but spent so long time wasting, they didn't actually start skiing until 10, Half an hour of skiing and they stopped for snack. Lesson finished at 11.45 and dd said she skied three times.

She has also just told name that she got left behind when her ski came off and didn't know where to go! Apparently, she skied down to the chairlift to see if they were there, they weren't, so she got on the chair and went up again to see if she could find them, but was scared in case they had skied down and she was on her own. She did find them again, but didn't want to tell us about this as she thought we would be cross!

Wish I had known this when we were there. Can you imagine the worry she mist have had? She is 8!
