We are going to Courchevel 1850 for a weekend (being treated by someone). We are not skiers and won't be doing actual skiing but hoping to find some other nice activities to do in the area.

I am absolutely clueless having never been to a ski resort before. What clothing do I need to get for myself, DH and 2 year old? Going mid-Feb.

Anyone able to help and provide me with a list and suggestions of good places to purchase it that isn't going to cost the earth?!

Thanks so much.

Ebay, Snow & Rock, local ski shops. If you stick to the town, you won't need skiwear trousers / salopettes. I would definitely recommend snow boots or walking boots at least. You might want to walk alongside one of the lower gentle slopes (plenty of locals go alongside with their tiny dogs!), in which case you'll need appropriate footwear. You'll need a warm coat, waterproof too if it's going to snow that weekend too.

I would get your kiddie togged up in thermal base layers with a fleece mid layer, topped up with ski jacket and salopettes / all-in-one.

If it's snowing, you'll need salopettes too...

There are cable cars that you can take all the way up to the top of the mountain, go for the views and the expensive restaurants! At least for hot chocolate :)

Base layers
Hat
Ski gloves (even if you're not skiing you may want to sledge or make snowmen)
Fleece
Warm socks
Snow boots
Decent jacket
Ski trousers (salopettes are a PITA when you need the loo)
Sunglasses
Sun block/screen
Lip balm

Decathlon/tk maxx/sports direct/eBay/gumtree for good value ski stuff.
