Skiing with 8mo DD

We're going on the big annual family skiing trip next month. We're going with Scott Dunn who are very accommodating of babies and children (will provide nappies, use of washing machine, car seats, buggies etc etc)

But I wondered what we should buy DD to wear. In all likelihood DH will go out in the mornings and then I'll go out in the afternoon. DD will not be spending much time outside, so I'm thinking a good snowsuit, mittens, hat and then layers underneath. Besides Northface and Trespass are there any other brands / suits that would be suitable? I'm loathe to spend £85 on a jacket that will in all likelihood be worn for a week! On the otherhand I don't want DD to get cold.

Oh and what about sun block for her?

Anything else I may have failed to think about in my post Xmas, teething blighted, sleep deprived state ?! Grin

Yes to sun block and definately a pair of sunglasses/baby goggles to protect her eyes.

Check out TKMaxx and ebay for snow suits. There's loads of other brands like Columbia, spotty otter, Patagonia, Didrikson etc. if suit doesn't have feet in you will need some little booties to protect her feet too.

We had a Reima suit for dd at that age, then Columbia separates , but there is a good selection here including Bushbaby. The secret is layers and when it was really cold we also used a fleece all in one underneath . If you go indoors just strip down to high neck top and leggings/tights. Definitely get some baby sunblock and small sunglasses too.

Thanks ladies. I hadn't thought of sun glasses. I ordered her a "warm" Polarn O Pyret suit but it doesn't have feet, so I'm going to order some booties. I also ordered merino wool thermals (a babygro and along sleeve vest and long johns). LIZS that website is fab. I love the goggle sunglasses. Thank you.
