Please help with suggestions of good resorts for Christmas skiing. My partner is advanced and goes off piste etc and the kids. 7 years and two eighteen year olds have been to Val'disere twice its quite a long transfer from geneva. We can only do blues although my daughter has done some reds. My seven year old had lessons with esprit last year. We want somewhere they make a fuss at Christmas so the seven year old enjoys it. Ideally we want to fly from Bristol. Budget wise 1000 per person avarage. Reasonable tranfer times will help. Any ideas please. We are thing the 21december for 7 days.

Samoens is lovely. Just over an hour from Geneva. It's a really pretty little alpine town, would be beautiful at Christmas.

Most French resorts do fireworks, Santa visit, torch list procession etc for Christmas. I would suggest you book with an English tour operator for the dinner etc experience in the hotel, if that's what you want. Eg, Esprit lay on a full family Christmas dinner at about 5pm on Christmas day, with crackers etc (and bucks fizz at breakfast!). Not been with an other operator over Christmas, but imagine it is the same/similar for other UK ones.
In other ways, though, it is a 'normal' day in the resorts - the ski school, childcare etc all work as on a normal day (though obviously you can skip them if you want).
