Courchevel 1650?

Anyone been here before? Any advice on good restaurants, pistes, etc?

Have been to 1800 before but never even skied over to 1650.

It looks like the only way over to 1800 is via a chair lift and a black or a drag run with a yellow triangle and a blue. Not sure how severe the drag is???? Always the bus I suppose!

To 1800 from 1650 you take either the Marquis Gondola or the 3 Valees Chair then it is a green (Praline) and a blue (Gravelles) down to the Gravelles Chair. You will then take the blue AltiPort down to the bowl around 1800. Certainly no blacks or a drag. There are some fabulous long blue runs above 1650 (Pyramide): this used to involve a drag: not sure if they have updated it to a chair yet. I love it over there. Click on "Ski Maps" down on the left to see the map here

Thanks Caunie, that sounds a lot better and that piste map on your link looks different to the one I saw previously. I think I must have been looking at an old one.

1650 is fabulous! I have been a few times as a blue/red run skier. Amazing! I would definitely return. If you need a ski school New Generation are brilliant and do lessons from 1650.

1650 to 1850 is very easy - please don't worry! There is a 'bowl' of lifts that link them - very easy - you will have a fab time - enjoy!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping to be able to have lessons with dd, who will be 12yo by then. She's too old for kids lessons but it looks like she's too young for adults. She doesn't want to go in teen classes and wants to stay with me.

Which is fine, she's a very good skier, skis blacks no problem. But it's the moaning I can't stand. She doesn't do it with ski instructors, but with me and Dh she skis 2 runs and wants to go back to the chalet and watch tv!
