MN GIFT GUIDE

AbbyMumsnet · 03/10/2007 14:05

We want to put together a MN guide to top gifts for all the family. Whack your suggestions here - along with who the gift would be ideal for and (ideally) a link to where to buy the blooming thing.

Thanks for your help!

Magazine subscriptions good for all grown-ups.
Theatre tickets or restaurant vouchers.
Early Learning Centre arts and crafts stuff for younger DCs.
Disney Shop stuff for ILs to buy for your DCs if they have more money than sense
Jo Malone, MAC or Liz Earle for luvverley ladieeees or metrosexual men.
Bottles of good vodka, scoth or vino for blokes - just buy when they are on special in supermarkets then try not to drink them yourself

I use this site for silver jewellery presents (and for me too).

Some really nice affordable things and look out for regular online sales too.

For the dhs: buy your dw a laptop
For the dws: buy your dh a cook book

This will work for most mners.
Rearrange gender/marital status as required.

Hotel Chocolat for pretty much anyone (as long as they like chocolate). They can deliver directly to the person, if you like. And they've also just started a US site so you can get them to deliver to people over there.

I'd recommend this site for lovely gifts mostly for women, but they have some nice smaller toys too.www.traidcraftshop.co.uk/Traidcraft It's all Fair Trade so it is a very ethical option!

For people who love things for the house that are a bit different, The Perfect Pad has loads of bits. I could browse the site for ages.

Tea at the Ritz vouchers have been a hit the couple of times we've got them for family and friends. You can get them on lastminute.com.

LL that's a good idea about the homemade hampers. We are the poor church-mice of DH's family - that would get us out of a tight spot or two.

Rosylea's link reminded me of Doy Bags - made from recycled juice cartons by a women's cooperative in the Philippines - so they're recycled and Fair Trade.
