i try to keep out of feeding related ones (though am sometimes drawn in)- far too contraversial,
i never go near style as i have none and don't care!

Ones that interest me or that I have something to offer to. If somethings just turning into an argument I tend to just stay away.

i do avoid threads where I see that a couple of posters have been as I know the thread will then wind me up.
other than that i just stay away from the ones that I know nothing about.

I avoid the TEA SHOPS and BARS because I'm new and they look like they are all people who have been together on MN for yonks - would feel a bit of a fraud trying to join in! And I avoid For Sale cos even if I wanted to buy, delivery overseas would be too much hassle. And I don't go on housekeeping because I don't see how talking about it gets it done... (not that I get it done as much as I need to anyway!)

I dont do weaning or pregnancy, mainly because I'm not doing either in my life! However, recently I have been looking at the miscarriage topics and its opened up a can of worms in my heart that I thought I'd got over! Bloody MN, I was fine before you came along!!

I avoid most of the baby threads - dim and distant memory.
Avoid threads which start with really long OP as cannot be bothered to read them al. (Sorry)

i avoid ones where i feel I can contribute nothing at all, in terms of humour, advice, support or empathy. (that's most of them, then... )

thanks littlelapin. What do people actually do in there then? Just chat?

Report
SSSandy2 · 04/05/2007 09:41

Those threads are fine. Never seen anything nasty going on in there. Just go in and order something to eat/drink and then chat

I just stepped in to the Tea Shop [brave emoticon].

Nickytwotimes, your thread may have expanded my MN usage today!

Weaning, breast vs bottle, vaccination, WOHM vs SAHM. Anything that might become a bun fight tbh.
