Is there anywhere we can critique the tip of the day???

Because honestly, most of them are the most ridiculous, waste of time crap or something so obvious you'd have to be not to do that already.

I've only read 1 that was any use to me.

when theres a competition and you can submit a tip to enter, people put any old crap.

But
what is one womans crappy tip is another womans treasure.

I am particularly loving the changing room one at the moment and, for altogether different reasons, the changing bag one.

Can we have a competition for the obvious tip of the day?

I'll start: if your baby is hungry, why not feed it some nutritious milk? I find this often helps a lot.

Ok - next competition I'll submit

'why not keep you toddler occupied on long journeys by taking some toys, a drink and a snack'

and I'll submit.

"a well rested baby sleeps better a night"

If it win's you the comp Connie you'll be happy then.

If you are desperate to win a holiday and the entries ask for a tip you'll think of anything in order to enter.

Wasn't in Olive or Soupie , or Twiggs or someone that posted 'don't let yor child run around with a sharp stick' in tips! LOL!

Cleaning teeth from behind was the only way I could do it when dd was younger ... and if I hadn't seen it as a tip (maybe even here) I wouldn't even have thought of doing it. So your crap tip was my fabulous revelation.

Is there anything about MN that you do like, Connie?

A sure-fire way of telling when your baby needs a new nappy is when it reaches their knees, flies gather and even dogs back away. This is a great one for a new mum. She'll be very grateful for your insight.

ThomCat · 02/05/2007 12:55

Well it may be a rubbish tip in your opinion Connie but there may be a mum who hadn't thought of it and it may be really helpful to her. Like I said, it's all about entering a comp than thinking of something so wonderful in the middle of the night that you think no-one else will have heard of that you just can't wait to share it with Mumsnet.

SoupDragon · 02/05/2007 12:56

Ah yes. I won a colour printer/scanner with the tip "Don't let your child run around the garden with a 6' bamboo pole. It's bound to end in tears"

I have also submitted the tips:
"vaseline makes a handy alternative to wet-look hair gel" and
"It takes 3 washes and a buzz cut with clippers to remove vaseline from a 5 year old's hair.

fleacircus · 02/05/2007 13:02

Are you mentioning Cod purely to wind Connie up?

Sorry WanderingTrolley - assumed you had seen "I would love to read a thread without cod being mentioned..." on Connie's other Site Stuff thread.
