I think today is mediation day, so wanted to say that I hope everything goes well. Will think of you throughout the day sending positive vibes your way, as what happens in that room has the potential to affect all of us.

Wishing you and the legal bods wisdom and strength. Best of luck.

yes, I am thinking of all at mumsnet. Just been catching up with the most recent articles.

Is mediation day today or the 13th? I think it's been postponed for a week, but not sure.

Tigermoth - Has it been postponed? I hadn't heard.

Is mediation a one day only thing, or does it sometimes take longer?

Good luck MNHQ. DH watched the Five Live thing on Monday and he wants to know a couple of things (he studied company law) and he says surely if a person - unrelated to MNHQ makes a libelous comment then surely MN cant be held responsible - i.e lets just sue MP.
Also if she closes us down then surely theres nothing to stop us re-opening as MN2 or something?
I know these are probably irrelavant now but Im just chuffed hes shown an interest in MN.

Yes good luck MN - watched the programme last night and thought you came across very well J. And SWMNBN didn't - and that's from a true devotee of the methods (Hope that statement doesn't come across as discussion of said methods)

LV - problem is that under current case law a publisher is counted as being responsible for what they publish. And technically Mumsnet is the publisher. But those precedents were established prior to the internet age, and so far nobody has been willing to be a test case and get a judge to rule that somebody running a website forum doesn't count as an actual publisher of material, but more as a facilitator of publication, and so therefore shouldn't be bound by the same legal rules as a true publisher.

(At least I think that's the issue)
