i wondered whether it would be possible to have the threads you have contributed to re-appear on your 'threads i'm on' or maybe threads i'm watching'

what i mean is if on monday i contribute to a thread " are all mumsnetters barmy or what?" then it dies its natural death - then a week later someone comes on finds the thread and contributed " how very dare you" ( for eg) then could it 're-appear' in my 'threads i'm on - as i did contribute to it at an earlier point in time

does that make any sense?

thinking about the logistics it would have to be over 3 days old and dead i would think and only re-appear should someone contribute afer that time. or else every thread contributed to would re-appear with a follow on post.

ok i hope that makes some kind of sense - lets hope a mumsnetter with a modicum of literacy skills comes along to put this in one sentence.

custardo, I know what you mean and I would like this facility too.

So if I contribute to a thead, I can keep track of it even if my contribution was over 3 days ago. Especially good if it is a thread I started.

I know I can look on search, but it is a more long winded way of going about it.

If there is an easy way to extend the 'threads I am on' facility to for instance, 7 days and 30 days (and even 3 months and 1 year) that would be excellent.

I agree. Don't want people to think I'm rude if they reply 3 days after my post & I've lost track.

I agree. It is OK to disappear of the threads I'm on list after 3 days. But it should reappear if it is reactivated by another post - especially if you are the OP.

Yep, I agree.

You can watch threads for ever - you have to actively stop watching - yet threads you have been active on disappear, and far too quickly.

I have often thought this but been too bone idle to suggest it.

But Custy, then if you contribute and you decide to go away from the thread so long as other people keep the thread going it will never leave the "threads I'm on". I think it's better to have the expiry tied to the last time I posted on the thread.

it may leave 'threadsi'm on' if i go on lots of threads.

i meant that if said thread died. say last monday. then i went on it today. it would reappear.

Hi we'll have a chat with tech and see if this is workable.

I like the idea of threads I'm on in the last 7 days as sometimes I'll post then not be here for a ocuple of days and it disappears again
