... for getting Hillary Clinton to come in for a webchat.

Can only point out that she was on BBC R4 Woman's Hour yesterday

the Grauniad are doing the same thing - fielding questions from readers and then doing a 20 min. videocast.

Thank you, we're still pretty amazed by the whole thing. Thanks for pointing out that interview, hopefully our questions have that inimitable Mumsnet touch!

Oh do give over with all this "well done" and "we are not worthy" nonsense!

Hillary is hawking her new book. MN gets millions of hits per month. Why wouldn't she want to do a web chat that will hopefully lead to more book sales.

Did HC visit Netmums ? I've no idea, but anyone would think MNHQ "bigged this up" 10x higher than they have, based on your reaction, CateBlanket.

Yes, she's "hawking her book" and the PR people will have had plenty of choices for media coverage, but to think they now include a web-only site that's not exactly a "news" site even though it covers some current affairs, it something MNHQ can rightly be congratulated on, or proud of, that someone went as far as saying "include MN" since they feel it on a par with the BBC and national newspapers.

I've seen no "we are not worthy" comment, but you can only "rubbish" this minor coup a little bit; carry on, and you'll look a bit churlish (based on seeing a comment on another thread elsewhere).

I can assure you that HCs PR team will have turned down a hundred PR requests for everyone they agree to.

Its a dream gig for a publishing PR. Most of the time when I did it I was on my knees begging radio back of beyond to do an interview with my authors.

Oh totally dreamy. oozing charisma. Suppose you sort of have to be, to get to be president (hm, does that work with Bush Jnr?). Very smiley and nice. It was back in the day when I was a meeja floozy, at a vair select private members club though. fairly sure I wouldn't get through the door nowadays.
