If you've got some onions, garlic, tomatoes and lentils waiting to be used up, you're already half way there...

Hurry over to our latest video, where chef and author Anjum Anand showed us that cooking authentic Indian food can be easy and doesn't mean forking out for a cupboard-full of spices you'll only use once (this dish only uses cumin, turmeric, chilli powder and coriander).

It's become a fast favourite with MNHQ – give it a go and let us know what you make of it! And do have a nosy round and subscribe to our YouTube channel, we've got more great food videos on the way...

Are there going to be text versions anywhere? I'm not keen on video as a medium for following in the kitchen.

Agree about text based. DS 20 months loves tarka dahl but its a faff to make will definitely try this.
