There are lots.

I suggested one of them venture outside of For Sale and they said they'd looked and didn't like it!

It drives me nuts I posted a for sale on here and when I searched the names of the people who responded most hadn't posted elsewhere so I put them on ebay. I posted the ad in the first place because I think that I can sell it cheaper so that the mumsnetter gets a deal and I save hassle and fees on ebay. but I won't again

soupdragon do you have a shop? I stumbled on one when called after yourself when searching for a buggyboard.

Is there any way MN can limit use of the sale boards to regular posters?

No, I don't have a shop. I have enough stuff to stock a shop mind you.

I don't think it's possible to limit it TBH. What counts as a "regular poster" for a start. It's a shame when non-MNers just pist their stuff for sale. Worse when they post an ebay link.

I'd love a shop an exchange thing like you used to get. I certainly have enough to get started

The way to stop it or at least cut it down would be to say, have a fixed amount of free posts per year on the For Sale boards and then to charge a fee per post. Might be something worth thinking about if folks find it irritating - we are planning an overhaul of classified in wee while so maybe we'll address it then. What do think?

maybe a fixed amount of free posts for members who have subscribed

Hi Justine was just congratulating you guys on not needing subs anymore. Makes me smile when I see things endorsed with mumsnet best!!
It annoys me that people might take advantage of cheap deals and then resell on ebay or people who post for wanted things and do the same or people who sell things at more than they would go for on ebay. Really mumsnetters just need to be aware.. I'm sure no one would object to you charging for ads though.

Yes, I think that could be a good idea, if you could give some free ads to joined-up members. Personally I think recycling goods through whatever means does help Save The Earth, so I'm a fan of the classifieds. Also, I'm sometimes quite interested in what's on offer - a recent doll's house was a good example.
