I think I might have to get all my old messages deleted... sob... can you help me find a new name please?

It's such a shame because reading them back is like reading a diary, but my mum did a search on Jeune syndrome and found my posts on a German board, where I use the same name as here, so it's only a short step for her to find all my messages on MN, which I've told her about.
And other people might do the same and read things about me they should never, ever know.

Is there any way I can save the birth announcement thread about Sebastian?

And please can you help me find a new name?

Can you print it off?

Where's emkana from - is it a version of your real name (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to!)

How is Sebastian now, btw?

could you print off important threads like Sebastian's birth announcement as a keepsake ?

Maybe if you change your name then you could get all your posts changed to that name

TBH if your mum wanted to find you on mn it would be pretty easy just through Sebastian's name or looking up Jeune Syndrome though

emkana is the beginning of my first name and my daughters' first names.

About Sebastian - will start a thread in a minute!

Emkana, have you posted stuff you really really don't want someone to read? If not why get your posts deleted?

That was my first though, CD - but if emkana's Mum was googling Jeune syndrome she might still find them and figure out emkana is whatever emkana's new name will be. Unless you could just have the very specific ones deleted and change name on the rest?

You can copy all threads you want to keep into Word and save them.
Thanks for your mail btw... will reply soon!
Not feeling creative right now but will do some musing and get back to you later!

CD - that's why I thought I need to get everything deleted - because then once she found me on this site she can search by name for all my old posts.

It's just that she knows this nick now. I could quite easily just get all the post mentioning Jeune deleted otherwise.

Or do a search on your own name and only get the really personal stuff deleted.

I used to worry about this but tbh decided in the end that if someone who knew me was that interested then good luck to them, they'd be bored of reading about how many stitches I had etc fairly quickly!

I asked MN to delete all my posts the other day because my mother had found out about MN. They refused because they said it makes a nonsense of the boards for everyone else. I ended up combing through all my posts, reporting the "sensitive" ones individually, which were then deleted.

Or could you get mn to change all your posts to something else (surely they've got a find and replace thing?) and then delete the Jeunes ones?

WideWebWitch · 29/06/2006 19:37

Oh NO GS, did she? How?

Think we can change your name on all your previous posts - will check with his Techliness - would that work?

emkana · 29/06/2006 19:37

I like mumkana, might do that.

Yes maybe I'll do a search for the personal stuff...

there's just some things where I've been a bit bitchy about her/other friends, and I'd be mortified if people read those things.

Oh god, you'd also have to delete my post, sorry didn't think but even typing the words J e etc will prob come up on a search, sorry.

Don't want to say any more WWW because she is almost certainly reading MN trying to work out who I am. It's bloody horrible
