Do you mean the one with the title "I'm a mum but I stil got Brians?" That one's from way back, maybe 2002 or so. Is the the archive search function still not up and running?

Nope - can't see it.

Called "I'm a parent but I've still got brians"

How did you find that? Thank you. :)

LotusEater - did you find that on search or did you have it bookmarked?

I knew the title but still couldn't find it.

The strange thing is if you search on the exact title it doesn't find it.

OK SG - I searched on 'brians' in the title and the name 'parent'

I'm sad that I have a good memory for such things Grin

Hi Rickman,

It wouldn't find it from brian the way it's set up now. If you want to find words starting with a group of letters, you can put them in followed by a character. So it would find it from brian or bria* in this case.

This will only work if you supply at least four real letters before the and it will only work if the asterisk is the last character in a word. If you tried to search for c it would treat it as a literal search and probably not find anything. We imposed that limit as it doeesn't make a lot of sense to search for all words that start c (and so on.) Four letters seemed like a fair compromise.

The search package we have now does all sorts of fancy schmancy stuff but we want to let it settle down in a fairly simple form before unleashing anyone on the more advanced stuff.

Regards,
Tech

OOh tech, can I hijack quickly to ask if a chat thread has been deleted, is it definitely gone forever?

Report
tech · 21/06/2006 00:15

We probably have a copy, but in general yes it's gone from the site.
