Just had my reminder from mumsnet that its year since I subscribed and the shocking news that only 500 out of 10,000 have subscribed.

So thanks to mumsnet:

  1. I got advice on buying a double pushchair.
  2. I got advice and support on getting a vaginal birth after a c-section and this definitely helped me make the right decisions and get the result I wanted.
  3. I got advice and support on breastfeeding when it all went wrong. Certainly I lasted a bit longer than I would have done otherwise and didn't feel bad when I gave it up.
  4. I have had access to views and opinions of people from very different backgrounds.
  5. And lastly, it gives me something to do on these long boring afternoons at work....

So they are definitely get a new subscription.

Agree with Tinker. Totally neglected my work, stopped getting anything else done, went to bed two hours later than planned - and I've only been reading the chat bits for about two or three days! Spent about three hours today reading and posting. Will have to be more self-disciplined - tomorrow.

Meanbean/tinker - your posts made me laugh so much! I am the same. Since discovering Mumsnet my eyes are square I spend so much time on the here! Even if it is just reading stuff!
If this continues I will have to go to MA (mumsnet Anonymous)

Mumsnet has introduced me to a wonderful virtual community of sharing and caring Moms (and parents). It has been the first site where I have ever "chatted" and shared and received information.
I too, am hopelessly addicted, and spend far too much time on the site, but I've never experienced anything like it. The advice is usually so balanced and sensitive and the resources available on the site are incredibleall different ages and careerathsthe knowledge pool is fantastic. And....I also LOVE to laugh ...and believe me, this site can really get me going!!!and
