How about a sports subforum?

Or maybe two, one for watching sports and another for taking part?

As it is, there seems to be no obvious place to put threads about professional sports. The Wimbledon threads got buried in Chat.

I am sure it would get more life than, say, the video games forum.

If there is one already, then ignore this, other than pointing me in the direction of it if you would be so kind.

This? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sports_and_exercise. I haven't looked through it though, so don't know if it's just about participating - or both. There's another topic just called Sport - but it's only got 5 threads on it!!

Where is the topic called Sport? Confused I can't find it.

I think a sports sub forum would be good. The sport and exercise forum is full of, um, exercise. There's nowhere to argue talk about watching sports and I know a lot of MNers do.

Here is Sports www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sports.

I generally scroll through the A-Z Topics, rather than looking in main topics and then sub topics. But I'm on a PC, I guess if you're on a smart device of some kind doing that could be a PITA!

Aha, I couldn't find it in from the main talk menu, maybe that's the problem! I didn't even know it was there.

OMG Shock I didn't even know we had this topic! Blush

Since no one's posted in it for a looooog time and we've already got Sports and Exercise, we might just throw a veil over it for now.

Helen, could we have somewhere easy to find that is for discussing sports? If it is in an obvious place, without a veil, then hopefully it will get used more.

Thanks

Would Sports and exercise not cover it?

It's in the Fun and Games category.

Watching sports is like the opposite of exercise though. It is the way I do it, anyway.

At a pinch, it certainly would. But it looks to be more a sort of Fitness and Exercise folder than one for discussing the Premiership / Wimbledon / Ashes. Hence we get the Wimbledon threads in Chat and AIBU.

I hope this is coming across as a suggestion, not a demand - if it can't be done then look for me in Flouncers corner no problem.

We hear you. Really.

But just a trifle worried that folks won't get the distinction and will post about the Ashes or Froomey in Sports and Exercise and then try to talk about the Couch to 5k in Sports.

And then we'll spend most of our day moving threads from one topic to the other

Helen, I suggested Sports & Excercise early this morning Grin

BadLad, you can't flounce yet - we want to find out what's going to happen when you try to chat up your fellow commuters Wink

Afternoon. Do please enjoy our slightly spruced up Sports topic (in Fun & Games) for all nattering about Froome, Arsenal, Murray, Arsenal, Root, Arsenal and rather fast athletic-y people. And Arsenal.
