Site stuff

Please change the links across the top to click ones rather than hover ones

I'm fed up with them popping up for no reason and it is ruining my MNing experience, even now they are less sensitive.

Is it really beneficial to have them as hover links

Yes. Because MNHQ is going to change back something they just spent hundreds of pounds on because a few people don't like it.

Hell even if thousands of MNetters don't like, I imagine they won't change it back.

It seems to be set so that after you click on a thread, most of the time your cursor ends up in the hover position when the thread opens, so most of the posts are covered until you move the cursor. I generally find hover menus quite useful but there are irritating.

Put your mouse halfway down the page and to the left.

I am having no problem avoiding them.

Especially the pregnancy one, with the Confused face.

Put your mouse halfway down the page and to the left.

That makes it really hard to click, say, the "threads I'm on" link at the top of the page! When a page loads after clicking that, the other links trigger.

I doubt they spent hundreds of pounds making them hover links rather than clickable ones Hmm. Personally, I imagine most of the cost went into the actual links themselves and the designs of the boxes (which I have no problem with whatsoever).

I meant while the page loads, obviously, so you're not over the link when it's finished.

Is this when you go to click Threads Im On and end up clicking on something in the huge Pregnancy drop down that appears but you only realise after you've clicked?
If so - agree!

If you need to put your cursor somewhere after you've clicked in order to prevent a pop up, there is something wrong.

What is the benefit of having them as hover links?

Well done Soup, it looks like the hovering has ceased.

Er... no it hasn't :(

It's been really irritating me.

I totally agree!

I think they've compromised and changed the dropdown from appearing onfocus OR onhover to just onhover.

I'm happy as I don't use a mouse and am therefore hoverless.
