Site stuff

archived threads, can we read them or link to them?

I was just looking for a thread enid started but I can't find it. I'm pretty sure it was called something like 'I'm nesting, any freezer friendly recipes to share?' but I've just searched on 'nesting' with enid as the author and nothing comes up. Why? If we can't read archived threads it's a shame but maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks furball. Where do we find the archived threads then? And can we link to them? Sorry if these are stupid questions!

Sorry guys nothing special. I just did a search on 'freezer' but with no author and it popped up that it had been archived

aah, so the author is now mumsnet? Maybe that's why enid didn't come up.

hello all,
At the moment threads are being archived if they are more than 300 days old (ie no new messages for that long), apart from the chat topic which archives after 60 days. At the moment, search can't find archived threads based on words in the messages; it can only find them if the word is part of the thread name. We are putting in a new search engine gizmo soon, which will also help with the slowdowns. I'll let you know when it is up and running.

Thanks,
Tech
