Why can I sometimes do it on iPhone app & sometimes can't?

Can you tell us what happens when you can't reply? What do you see or what message do you get?

I can see the message but I just don't get a reply button.

At the bottom I've got 'home', 'active', 'I'm on' etc same as on the main pages.
