can I leave as a result of the mothercare ad? I've been TTC for 15 months and the sight of that baby makes me very sad. I think it's very inconsiderate of MN actually.

FF - Yes I feel its a personal attack on my clothing budget as I can't afford anything from the catalogue. I feel that in some way MN are making a judgement about me on the basis of my salary.

Please post LOADS of links to other threads to win me over.

FF, I'm with you...can't afford or even if I could afford, look good in Boden clothes...

Due to mumsnet i am in debt with all the advertisers! well not true but my overdraft has been seen frequently from just clicking on a supposedly harmless add!!!

Report
fairyfly · 24/08/2005 10:09

Now if they had a new look link to balance it out i would be fine.

Lets not turn this into a New Look versus Boden debate. But dressing your kids in clothes from New Look can damage them long term. Nobody really uderstands what materials New Look use. Boden is best.

Who speaks for the chldren here?

actually the parents speak for the children.. and i dont personally see a prob with dressing your kids from poundland.

Some of us find boden painful, and some of us don't choose to shop there for personal reasons.

My kids have been publically spat on in the street for wearing clothes from Poundland.

but if you dressed them from poundland they would get the shit kicked out of them for being "uncool" There's nothing good about wearing a tshirt with "Shanelle" on the front

that discount percentage is there as a blatent plug, I'm off (again).

DISGUSTING.

And no-one has mentioned Primark

There's not enough information on Poundland. We dont know its long term effects

jampots · 24/08/2005 10:18

or indeed "kikas" or "timbaland"

FF- you should be on stage, you make me die laughing.

Boden makes you a better parent. And that's my last word on the matter. (except for when I come back later and post another 300 times)

I'm suing mn for causing a boden addiction - all that temptation is not right.
but that said you can order loads dress the kids, take a few photos for all middle class relatives and then send it back - free returns and no quibbles refunds.
Bargain

I dont like the john lewis advert, they are trying to make that poor child look like a MINI DAD and that is testament to abuse IMO and I think it is abhorent that parents choose to dress their children in such a way

katie - my kids never have tantrums, Boden gives children that sense of belonging and calm that leads to perfect behaviour surely?
Don't anyone tell dp different right?

Report
katierocket · 24/08/2005 10:21

exactly piff, just can't see why it's not obvious to everyone.
