and today was my day!

I had lessons today that I skipped out of. Nice classes who listened, enjoyed the lesson and came up with some cracking questions.

Days like this are so fab!

Yes, I've had a few of those as well this week!

However today I was on supply covering for a colleague who is absent.

I do not envy him his classes, especially his Y8 last thing.

However what is especially cute is Y7 saying thank you at the end of a class, or even when giving out homewrk sheets to them!

That's fantastic Mb. What classes are you teaching this year?

1 year 8, 3 year 11s 3 year 10s (any two of these at a time on rota), 2 lower sixth, one upper sixth.

Best lesson was with year 11 set 2, bright, keen, well behaved with just a touch of spikiness about them. May fav type of class

I covered a yr 7 yesterday and they were wonderful. I didn't get to know many names, because I didn't have to shout them! I didn't have to say, put you're hand up if you have a question, they just did. I didn't have to shout, 'Stay where you are, I have't said you can go yet!' They just didn't move. When they did leave the room, they all said goodbye too! Makes the day so much nicer, dunnit?

Isn't it great to have classes and a timetable that works for you?

What I think is lovely in September is to see how much some of the children have grown up over the holidays. The ones that were annoying are suddenly extremely pleasant.

It's so nice to read this. As a mum whose yr 7 is so keen on their new school and teachers I just hope it continues. Best of luck.

I also love my timetable this year (TA), pupils I know, consecutive lessons (ie I know what we are doing & what's coming next) and teachers that so far seem great to work with

Crikey, I'm loving my job too atm: what is the world coming to? I seem to be having loads of great lessons (am a cover supervisor) and everybody in my departments keeps telling me how wonderful I am and how much they appreciate me
