Secondary School Leeds Bradford area advice needed

We have to relocate and are looking at secondary schools in the Leeds / Bradford area. Our children are very happy at their current schools where education is good and children seem to get on very well together and the behaviour of pupils is generally excellent.Wetherby and Boston Spa would be convenient for work but we have the impression that the schools may have problems with bullying and disruptive behaviour and below average attainment. Can anyone with local experience provide up to date information on these schools. We are also interested in Ilkley Grammar School but travelling distance to work from Ilkley may be further than we really want.
We would be very grateful for any helpful advice.

I think that Horsforth/Guiseley/Prince Henry's in Otley and St Mary's the catholic school in Menston are some of the best in the area you are looking at. I'm not from Leeds but have worked for Leeds LEA in Leeds schools - am sure that some of the Leeds mums will have some more advise.

Bradford schools - Ilkley Grammar, Bingley Grammar and Dixons are prob some of the best but it depends where you will be living.

Hope some of the Leeds/Bradford MNetters can help you more. Where will be moving to?

Hi camelia,

I can help and you are welcome to CAT me if you want. I live in Ilkley and the school is excellent . My babysitter went there got 10 a* then 4 a's and a first at cambridge!
It is a great school but with a lot of competition for places ( postcode helps!)
St Marys is also a very good school but not sure about non catholic admissions policy - i think it varies year on year!
My children actually go to school in Skipton. They are selective but NON fee paying grammar schools.
Where abouts are you hoping to move to?
