Resitting French AS modules- advice please!

Hi All- My daughter got a C in her AS Ccea French. The subject is badly taught at her school. Parts of the course had not even been taught- she was told to read over it herself! She needs to get it up to a B at A2. She would have to resit all the components. I am desperate for some advice. Could she use online resources to help her? Would I need to get a tutor? Any advice much appreciated - a worried mum.

Personally I would try and get a tutor. This is such a shame for someone who wants to do a language. It really shows why there are fewer and fewer young people doing languages at university.

Thanks MMM - her teachers previously have described her as a natural linguist. We live in an isolated rural location and there are no tutors in the area. I would love to get a french teacher's opinion.

That is a good idea - will look into it. The school had a lovely native french assistant but her English was so poor she was unable to explain grammar etc. Could she use websites etc or any other ideas welcome?

Have you tried those national agencies who provide tutors? They might have one in your area.

Also, although it might not be quite what you are looking for, some agencies do week long courses which might help.

Thanks Leeds2 I did try a national agency and they have tutors in the nearest city which is 25 miles away. It is not ideal and would take an hour driving each way, but it is doable.

Could anyone advise us if sitting her entire AS french will benefit her A2 studies? My thinking is that if the listening and speaking are improved, it will be beneficial for A2. However with no January resits it will be a lot of exams in May/June.
