Anybody out there teach statistics or any of you who have taken it yourself, could you please make yourself known. My daughter is doing her first piece of coursework for the subject and she is stuck. She is doing stratified sampling and has collected three newspaper articles from three different types of newspaper. then she has to count the words in each article, add this all together. The individual total is then divided by the total of all three and multiplied by 300, this gives a sample number of words. She then has to divide the total number of words in the article by the sample no. of words and this should tell her how many words she should highlight, ie every 7th word. She has done all of this and it doesn't come out to the right number!!! If there is anyone who could advise or direct me to a website or somethingI would be so grateful.
