Year 7 report

I may have the wrong end of the stick but before I make a tit of myself does anybody know if there is a good reason why the year 7 reports won't be given to parent until the end of October (so during year 8)

Just read that in the heads letter to parents and I will be querying it but there may be a really good reason for it...can't think of one but I've been wrong before Grin

er - no.
dd got hers in the last week of the school year.
As they go up through school they do come out at different times, to stagger the workload for the teachers, different yr groups get them in different months, but always in the same yr im both the schools my dc have been to.

My daughter got hers last week. I've never heard of year 7 report coming out in year 8. Our patents evenings are staggered but interim reports and end of year reports all done together.

I received the letter a week ago but obviously missed that bit when I read it the first time

It certainly didn't happen 3 years ago when ds1 started

I'm a bit annoyed about it to be honest, I want the report so if there are any problems I can get them sorted at the start of year 8. The letter says at the end of term which suggests that it will be Christmas

Think the schools gone a bit down Hill anyway

Thanks for your help ladies

Sounds like an admin cock up. Last year an admin error meant that we had to re-write all our Yr 12 reports because by the time they'd sorted out the admin, a lot of what we'd written was out of date.

Good point, if that is the case I wish they would say. Will ring the school tomorrow

Thanks

Yes, they gain nothing being all secretive about it. AFAIR, when it happened at my school, a letter went out explaining that there had been an ICT issue, apologising profusely and saying that new, up-to-date reports would be issued as soon as humanly possible. Parents were happy, yr 12 teachers were livid!
