Hi I'm thinking of relocating to Manchester. Thinking village type location on the outskirts, so greater Manchester. My main criteria is to
be in catchment area for a good secondary school. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you

You could investigate Partington Village (small community high school called Broadoak). Dunham Massey village where you would be catchment for Wellington School, Timperley (though check as it may have changed). Living in either of these villages you would probably get into Lymm High School too, a very large high school. All these schools have good reputations and good Ofsteds though I have not had a child at any of these so first hand experience; daughter due to start at Lymm High in September. Lymm is more expensive and a commuter village with a lot of relocaters. Dunham Massey is a more traditional olde worlde country village, on the outskirts of Altrincham. Partington more of an estate surrounded by green fields and currently being regenerated.

All these places are within easy reach of Manchester City Centre (few miles) and there are many many leisure centres on your door step. Good luck.

Lymm is just over the Trafford border in Warrington Council.
