Glenthorne High School - Induction Interview

Hi just need some advice please. Ds has a place at Glenthorne High (non selective state school). I've received a letter with information about dates for induction day, CATS test day and they also mention an induction interview which will take place in June. Has anyone has to do this before for this particular school? Just looking for tips really. School

Sorry posted too soon. School place is not dependent on outcome of interview.

Don't know the school, but my y6 daughter has a "tutor interview" a couple of weeks after her induction day - it's just an introduction and a chat, it won't be anything serious :)

This is becoming quite common - I know that Nonsuch School hold induction interviews for new Year 7s before they start - they send someone to the primary school for a 1:1 chat - or your ds might find he's in a small group. It's probably just a friendly chat about the school, homework, behaviour expectations and what subjects/activities your ds likes etc - nothing to worry about.

Don't worry. My dd is in sixth form there. Induction interview is just that. A chance for you and ds to find out about the school. They'll talk about school policy and rules, what the expectations are for behaviour, and work and a chance for you to ask questions. Also a chance for you to buy uniform.
Gelnthorne is very strict on uniform and behaviour so has high expectations. This is how they have earned the Outstanding grade at OFSTED and make it clear to all parents and pupils what these expectations are.
Relax - all will be fine.

Hi
My child also starts at Glenthorne in September but doesn't know anyone as the only child from her school going. It would be good to meet some other parents/children that are also starting this Sept 2014?
