Good or not? Any comments? Any inside information of the boy boarding?

Looked at school for my own DS. Has own entrance exams but son being prepared for ISEB Common Entrance and did not want another set of tests. School seems very skewed to day pupils, boarders seem to be in the minority so did not like the balance. Most pupils seem to be locals which we did not like. Very good sports facilities but not impressed with boarding facilities. Was not for us, but could understand appeal if easy commute from surrounding counties. An old boy from school won Masterchef a few years ago and he certainly came across as very pleasent person.

What year of entry and what sort of school would you like eg Yr 7, 8 or 9? Any geographic preference? Do you definitely need full boarding or are you happy if lots come home for some of the weekend? What attracted you to Bedford? Just asking to get an idea of what you are looking for.
