If your dc has to stay after school for a rehearsal, sports' practice etc (as a one-off not a regular thing), do they communicate the fact with parents or rely on the child to relay the details?
I just found out this morning (!) that dd has to stay after school today for a dance rehearsal. I phoned the school and they said the girls have known about it for a while and it is up to them to tell parents/make arrangements. Dd forgot to tell me!
I was just wondering if this is commonplace in secondaries? I'm not complaining, I know they're expected to be more grown up now, it's just annoying that she forgot to tell me and I've had to make last minute arrangements. Plus the rehearsal was due to finish after the late coach leaves so I told dd she'll have to leave a bit early.
