Best private school for girls?

My 10 year old is in Year Six and will be going into Year 7 next year. We have sold our house in Hampstead and moving to Chelsea. She got a place at a local school last week, but ideally we want her to be closer to home.

Is it too late for me to apply for somewhere for her?

Looking for recommendations too- within Chelsea/Knightsbridge or close by.

Yes it is too late, acceptances are coming out in the next couple of weeks. Perhaps you can see if you are in the Lady Margaret catchment and get her on the waiting list as a late entry. You could also send her to a 13+ school like Thomas's or Knighsbridge and try for 13+ but that would need to be for coed like Latymer, Emmanuel or Ibstock as all girls schools have 11+ entry.

My daughter has been offered places in old palace whitgift school Croydon and notredame cobham in year 7 I can't makeup my mind which one would be a better choice for her academically . I would appreciate parents advice who have sent their kids to these schools or their friends kids go there.

Mellisa if you really don't have a preference I suggest you choose the school with the easiest journey for your daughter. She will be traveling there every day for 7 years and will have more energy for everything connected to school if she doesn't have to travel for 3 hours each day. As she gets older she will hopefully take part in more extra curricular activities, sports matches, orchestra, choir, drama, dance shows, debates the list is endless. It makes a huge difference if she can be home quickly.

I dont think it is ever too late in the inde sector. There us always room for one more if they really really want you. have a go. They usually test late entries in March onwards. Go for it!
