11+ does the new school know if your child passed the 11+ or only got through on appeal?

Just wondering and also if it affects your child's record. Hoping there is someone out there who actually knows the answer.

I don't understand your question. Appealing the results of an 11 plus surely would surely only apply to somethingn like illness or circumstances affecting the results etc.

They will know the scores, I think. Ours send out the letters, so they definitely do.

I doult that any of the teachers will know or be that interested. Schools have so much data on hundreds of pupils they won't care.

And most schools don't have a pass mark as such but take the top however many places there are scores.

The exception is a school like one near to me where they do set a pass mark, then allocate places to everyone who got above the pass mark according to faith and distance criteria.

Apparently the teachers don't, the head and office of course do, but it disappears into their personal files.
A place on appeal is as good as a pass thru testing.
They see their SAT scores (DD was in on appeal - she scored 372 overall - the cut off is 360, but as she was 1 point under on her maths (grrr) we had to appeal), she went in on all level 5's
The other girls from her school had no more than 1 level 5 each - and one even had a 3 in literacy! It's all bonkers.

It's all so technical!
Trying to understand and plan ahead. Wondering if it is worth moving away from this 11+ area which I didn't realise we had moved into. It was the last thing on my mind and now the parents all seem to be absorbed by it but asking questions no-one gives a direct answer so it's like they dont' want to share or dont' have a clue either. don't know which it is but this question came to me and i DIDN'T know who else to turn to.

Certainly in Bucks they wouldn't know, the child enters the admission round like everyone else.

I've overheard that there are good websites on this subject for/by parents, but I can't seem to find any. Do you know of any? I've tried various 11+ variations but can't seem to get it right.

What happens if you move into an 11+ area when yr kids are in year 8 or older?

This happened to friends and relations in the 1970s and they all attended the grammar school despite having failed in their own area and gone to secondary moderns. Wondered what would happen now when most kids are tutored

There is a 12+ and 13+

ALso, at my grammar, some girls entered without testing if they were put forward by their own secondary school.
At the end of the day, grammars want to fill all their places!
We moved into the area from a 13+ grammar school, my sister got a place without taking a test - she was always top banded in secondary school and would have taken the 13+
I went in on 13+ too
