I cant believe ofsted have made such a big deal today over sex education in schools.Does it really warrant all this fuss anyone could guess some teachers might find it embarrasing to teach how much money was wasted on inspectors coming to that conclusion I never wanted or needed anyone else to give my daughter sex education She asked me when she wanted to know is well adjusted and cant remember not knowing it just happened naturally ON THE OTHER HAND OFSTED MISSED THINGS THAT DID MATTER SUCH AS a maths teacher at gcse who failed maths a level children capable of doing a papers in maths never being taught the a paper children being pushed on to b techs when able to do gcses to boost the number of passes for the league tables

They should be in touch with parents and pupils more to find out the hidden prblems If ofsted are going to continue with this new goverment they need to wake up to the actual concerns of parents Probably lots of parents could name teachers letting pupils down in the subjects most parents cant teach their children such as maths or science If i hadnt felt able to give my daughter all the information she neede about sex someone who could would have been easy to find in my family but i couldnt find anyone to help with maths or science. My daughter went to a school which got good from ofsted but was awful one of the most misersble things was if a parent phoned up it was like dont you realise we are all very important with no time always being in meetings to talk to a parent and it could literally take days or even a week before they would even condescend to speak to a parent Ofsted should ask parents and pupils what worries them in a school not make a fuss about lack of qualifications of sex education teachers
