How does one go about getting marriage guidance councelling?

No, you can self refer. Just google Relate or Couple Counselling and register with your local service. You can get an appointment quicker if you can pay - around £45 per session, but you can get free sessions - it took around 6-8 weeks before we could get an appointment. We had to keep ringing every week to check if there were any appointments, and to keep your name on the list.
