....

It's my birthday tomorrow. Today we've had a thoroughly shite day today which culminated in taking dd to A&E . Nothing too serious but there was much stress and tears (hers and mine!)

Because I was feeling so rotten DP has just spilled on my birthday pressies in an effort to cheer me up!

I'm booked in tomorrow morning at a swish spa in town for an hour and a half of hot oil body massage >swoons<

Then he's picking me up and taking me (and dd) to a beautiful baby-friendly gastropub for a slap-up lunch!

Just had to share! I read so many miserable stories on here about total twats of men and I just want to reassure you all that there are some absolute stars out there

Thanks everyone

And yes MrsMattie she's ok - she's got something called a mucocele inside her bottom lip.

It's an ulcery/balloon of tissue type of thing and it must be very painful as she's been full-on screaming most of the day

She may need surgery under a general which I'm terrified of. Hoping it will go away on it's own.

All we can give her is calpol so it's been rough

What a lovely, lovely man. TBH, I'm dead too - my experience ties in with threads on here I'm afraid, and I can't quite believe such a gem exists! But obviously he does, and good for you for finding him.

Have a lovely morning.

I am also very of your lovely day tomorrow. Happy Birthday to you!!

I had a mucocele in my mouth (inside lower lip) last year. It didn't hurt at all, only if you bite on it accidentally which can happen when eating. Mine went away on its own after three months so I really hope that happens for your dd too.

Happy birthday for tomorrow, and enjoy your lovely day. Hope DD feels better soon.

On a smaller scale, DH just brought me a cup of tea (I'm supposed to be updating my CV, not MNing ) and a cake. As he put it down next to me he said 'Don't worry, I've already picked the pecan off for you' as he knows I love these cakes but hate the pecan nut on the top. Made me smile anyway

Thanks again

AnnasBananas - thanks for that info. It's a relief to know that the mucocele itself doesn't hurt. I can only imagine that because of it's location Toots is catching it every so often with her 2 bottom teeth and that's what's causing the screaming

Poledra - that's just as sweet as my story imo. These lovely thoughtful gestures are the proof of true love imo not diamonds/cars/houses (although would be nice ).

Yesterday was fantastic. The spa was beautiful and I felt like a new woman leaving! Lunch was great and we had a lovely chilled out evening with dd and a movie
