What would your DH/DP do if you did this to them?

Lets just say he left his shoes in the bathroom ... you were in a bit of daft mood so filled them with water for a laugh.

Thinking about it properly ... how would he/she actually react? I mean, don't just say "he'd kick off" ... what would he/she actually do?

There is a point to this thread which I'll make clear later but no, I'm not trolling!

i really dont know. i would never do something like that to him. if he did that to me i'd go ballistic.... ie i'd shout / swear / sulk for a v long time. i would be furious.... whatever the "reason" / provocation was meant to be...

Mine would whine:- "OFGS, Grow Up!" "How am I supposed to get them dry? Why would you think that was funny?" etc.

He would wonder why on earth I had done something so utterly strange, and if he had done something more than usual to piss me off, then he would consider that I am hormonal - and would use it as an excuse to be an immature wanker for some time, I am sure.

I frequently put his clothes/shoes in the bin (indoor) when I find them downstairs in inappropriate places (he left a pair of underpants under the dining table for over a week once!) but I personally would consider filling shoes a destructive thing and wouldn't do it so it would be VERY out of character for me.

Now tell - what's going on?

Soak my side of the bed with them.

(He's just added "with piss" )

I would probably kick off if he did it to me, "don't you know how much they cost? why did you do that? you're so immature!" Then I'd probably start bringing up old shit.

looks up number for Relate

Um, he'd think I was utterly unhinged.
I actually can't imagine what he'd say, it's just too unlikely.

I once filled my dads trainers with cauliflower left over from dinner,

i was a teenager,

he used to shout at me for not eating my veg,

on this occasion, he didnt eat his,

and the trainers in question were greenflash before they where retro

he packed them for a holiday and found them stinking 5 days later,

seems like a completely pointless thing to do as you would most likely ruin them...?

He would shout, swear, scream, threaten and sulk.

Why would such a thing be funny anyway?

"what the fuck, who did this!"

i admit it and then laugh at my pathetic jeuvinile behaviour.

" what the fuck am i fgoing to wear on my feet now? am i supposed to go to work like this, how bloody selfish are youl, i have to drive 2 or 3 hours in wet shoes, selfish cow"

i think.

what utterly stupid behaviour.

awww, DH has just been to the bathroom so he's half asleep but I asked him what he would do if he found his shoes full of water - he said (bless) that he would think that I probably thought they stank and needed cleaning, and then he would ask me how to get them dry

Report
treedelivery · 30/11/2008 23:30

Awwww!! What kind of angel do you have there? Even to speak to you when half asleep.

Mine just grunts and frowns at me. Big brownie points for him. Put something nice in his lunchbox?

  • he is obviously very put-upon, bless him!

Now if it were the other way round - I'd be shouting blue murder and saying WHY? HOW exactly is that meant to be funny? You have RUINED my shoes, you tosser.

Just shows, doesn't it (who the uptight one is in our family!)

He would wonder which one of the children did it, conclude it was DD3 (not unlikely) and tell her off in his scary voice. When he realised it was me, he would conclude that I had taken leave of my senses, tell me how upset he was and sulk for a day or two.
I would not blame him...

Dh tells me he would find me and throw the water over me.

Nice!

Do something equally childish back no doubt. Like hide the laptop .

Report
pamelat · 01/12/2008 09:15

Unless they were old shoes and about to be thrown out, DH would be very angry at me.

Probably swear and tell me how childish I am and tell me that I can get him a new pair?
